Central Excise, Bangalore introduces SMS Service

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]2The Commissioner of Central Excise (Appeals I & II) has launched a Short Messaging Service (SMS) whereby information shall be given to trade & industry through an SMS on their mobile phone, in addition to the existing practice of written communications vide Public Notice No. 1/2017 dated 28.02.17. The service will be extended to all Manufacturers, Service Providers, Importers & Exporters and other Stakeholders falling under Commissionerates of the Bangalore zone under the jurisdiction of Commissioner of Central Excise (Appeals – I & II).

The Notice says that in order to promote Digital India” and to update the applicants in real time and provide information seamlessly in a hassle free manner, the Office of the Commissioner of Central Excise (Appeals I & II) has put in place a system whereby the information relating to Appeals shall be disseminated to the appellants by way of SMS also, in addition to the postal letters/e-mail.
