PM Modi Says Biofuel can provide Momentum in this century

Prime Minister Narendra Modi says Biofuels can be the catalyst to provide momentum in the 21 st century. He said this while addressing gathering of people from various backgrounds such as farming, science, business, students, government officials, legislators and more, in New Delhi.

Biofuel, products produced from crops can change the lives of people in both villages and cities. The PM added that the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government initiated the plan to produce ethanol from Biofuel. The Narendra Modi government prepared a road-map for the Ethanol Blending Programme. Modi said that this move benefited the farmers and helped to save foreign exchange worth ₹ 4000 crore last year. Modi added that his government would strive to strive to bring the number to ₹ 12,000 Crores over the next four years.

The prime minister informed the gathering that the union government is investing a lot in the mission to transform biomass to Biofuel. The government wants to set up 12 modern refineries, thus providing a lot of employment opportunities.

Narendra Modi emphasized that the country can understand the significance of Biofuels only if the students, teachers, scientists, entrepreneurs and the general public involve themselves. Modi exhorted everyone to inform the rural populace about the benefits of Biofuel. The prime minister released a booklet on “National Policy of Biofuels 2018” on the occasion of World Biofuel Day.
