[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]PIA President Sri R. Krishnamurthy called on Sri Rajendra Kumar Kataria, IAS, on March 1 who recently took charge as Secretary (SSI, Mines & Textiles), to greet him on his new assignment.  “Sri Rajendra Kumar Kataria has a great track record and his performance as MD of KSRTC earlier saw him bring many laurels to the Corporation,” Sri Krishnamurthy said. “We are sure that as Secretary (SSI, Mines & Textiles), he will do an encore to the MSME sector as well.” The PIA President also discussed many problems relating to Peenya Industrial Complex.  PIA President Sri Krishnamurthy made specific mention of the immediate commissioning of the long-delayed Peenya Industrial Township Authority; allocating Rs 500 crore for one-time up-gradation of basic infrastructure in Peenya Industrial Complex like streetlights, drainage systems, better roads, etc; Sanction of annual Grant for Peenya Industries Association (PIA) to enable it to continue to promote the various developmental activities and Schemes of the Government, among many other such issues. “As Peenya Industrial Area is widely recognized as South-East Asia’s largest industrial extension and contributes to the State and Central Government exchequer more than Rs 2,600 Crores as Central Excise & Customs Duty and Rs 250 crore as Corporate Tax and Rs.1,400 Crores as Commercial Tax, we believe that the State Government should heed to the concerns and aspirations of the entrepreneurs in Peenya,” Sri Krishnamurthy noted. “We also urged the Government to take immediate steps to reinstate the 30% purchase preference and 15% price preference for MSMEs in PSUs, and ensure strict implementation of the same.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
