[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Directions have been issued to authorities of Peenya Industrial Area, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Karnataka Industrial Areas Board, Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association and other industry bodies to install sewage treatment plants, according to a media report on a visit by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
PIA has welcomed the proposal and expressed the hope that the concerned authorities would expedite the setting up of the sewage treatment plants, which has been long demanded by industries in Peenya Industrial Area.
In this context, the Minor Irrigation Department has started pumping water from the Tippagondanahalli reservoir to low-lying areas after a gap of five years, in response to a direction by the PAC.

The decision to pump water was taken after a visit to the dam by Members of the PAC recently to assess water levels. The PAC has also directed all the departments concerned to submit a report immediately on the encroachment on catchment area. Accordingly, the revenue department and local administration of Magadi and Nelamangala have been asked to ensure that sale deeds in respect of properties in the catchment areas are not registered.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
