PIA Officials Visit Job Mela in Davanagere

A delegation from the Peenya Industries Association (PIA) Bengaluru, attended a Job Mela at Jagaluru in Davanagere District. The delegation was led by Sri. MM Giri, Senior VP (President Elect), Sri.D. P. Danappa, Jt. Secretary and Sri. M. J. Prasad, President NC Cluster, Smt. Pushpa Lakshman Swamy M.A (Ph D) Secretary of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and Vice President of Karnataka Pradesh Mahila Congress organised this job mela, which provided employment avenues to the youth of Davanagere District.

With Davanagere – “the heart of Karnataka”, the sixth largest city in Karnataka state, fast emerging as one of the frontline districts in the path of development, there have been quite many job opportunities for the educated youth of Davanagere district.

Davanagere has also been called the Manchester of Karnataka because it has been a cotton hub. Davanagere, which became a separate district in 1997, is one of the 100 Indian cities to be developed as a Smart City as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Smart City Mission. This may imply that the city will see more development, thereby creating jobs.
