[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Good news for regular commuters in Peenya! The Basaveshwara Bus Station in Peenya could be linked to Peenya Industry Metro station as part of efforts to ensure better patronage for it, according to an announcement made by Transport Minister Sri H.M. Revanna.

The Minister was responding to a question during a news conference organised at Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) office. The lack of popularity of the bus depot opened in September 2014 was raised during the briefing.
According to the Minister, KSRTC was unable to shift its operations to Peenya as it would lose out on business from private operators. We must ensure that private buses also shift from the city centre simultaneously,” he said.

Sri Revanna said, “We will try to relocate private and government bus services away from the city’s core areas around Majestic Bus station which is heavily congested.”

The linking of Peenya Bus Station with Peenya Industry Metro Station will be a boon to factory workers who live in far-flung places of the city and also those who lack last-mile connectivity, said Sri R. Krishnamurthy, President, PIA. “It will particularly meet the requirement of those who come from areas where they lack Metro connectivity,” he said.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
